The C-BRAINS project proposed by the neuroscience community of Ile de France has been selected for funding by the Regional Council in the framework of its program supporting domains of major interest (DIMs). Neurosciences and cognitive sciences are at the heart of major issues in human health and in education and information sciences. Seventeen institutes in Ile de France, including the Hearing Institute, will help research to rise to the challenges of these issues in a highly competitive international scientific context, by implementing common programs in the domains of functional genomics, neuro-organoids, cutting-edge imaging, methods for studying cognition and animal behavior in complex environments, and artificial intelligence. The C-BRAINS project will begin in 2022, and is scheduled to run for five years.
